The Rum Category is evolving and deserves more respect in its classification than just simply white/gold/dark. As such, we're adopting a classification model derived from the team at the Whisky Exchange as well as Luca Gargano (Velier) and Richard Seale (Foursquare) with the aim to educate our followers on their respective rum journey's. The terminology used aims to help our readers understand how their rum is made and the associated flavours to be found in relation to each type.
Rhum Agricole - Traditional Column Still
Rhum Agricole is made from freshly pressed sugar cane juice (as opposed to molasses). Typically from the French island of Martinique, the cane juice is fermented and then distilled in Traditional Column Stills at one distillery.
