EL DORADO SCORES GOLD FOR GUYANA YET AGAIN!

Demerara Distillers has again scored gold with a new entry into the Rum category in the US with the recently launched El Dorado 3 Year Old Cask Aged White Rum. In the latest release of the 2009 International Review of Spirits by the Chicago Beverage Testing Institute (BTI) this El Dorado product has been awarded a Gold Medal (and Best Buy) with an impressive rating of 93 points which brings it to the top of the table of the White rums category with the 4 Year Old Flor de Cana and Rhum Clement Premiere Canne Rum.

Confirming Demerara Distillers as among the leading distillers in the industry, this rating is sequentially well in line with previous El Dorado Rums which were as follows:
92 points - El Dorado Rum Cream Liqueur (Gold Medal)
94 points - El Dorado 5 Year Old (Gold Medal)
95 points - El Dorado 12 Year Old (Gold Medal)
96 points - El Dorado 15 Year Old (Gold Medal)
98 points - El Dorado 21 Year Old Rum (Platinum Medal) - now the highest rated rum in the USA).

In an invited comment BTI Director and Editor in Chief Mr. Jerald O’Kennard was quick to point out that no other distillery has ever achieved the feat of having all six of its entries securing points in the nineties and this must surely be a reflection of the standards of excellence which exist at Demerara Distillers Limited.

Significantly the top selling Bacardi rums were represented by no fewer than ten entries in the latest review and their highest rated was the Bacardi 1873 Ron Solera Rum which was awarded a Silver Medal with 88 points in the Dark Rum category.
