This golden rum is a blend from Trinidad of rums somewhat younger than our vintage selections and it provides an authentic introduction to the charms of the Caribbean.
The softer style makes for approachability and mixability.
Its attractive golden colour, its tones of toffee and burnt sugar on the nose exemplify the best qualities of this increasingly popular type of rum.
The palate is light and clean and it is ideal for enjoying with ice and your favourite mixer, or as part of an exciting cocktail.

Caroni 1998
On Trinidad today there remains only one operating distillery since the Caroni operation has now closed.
This means no further production of the full soft styles that Caroni produced and we are pleased to have secured a small piece of history for your enjoyment.
Soft fruit on the nose with spice and a hint of wood lead to a palate of clean well made spirit, with soft underlying oak, a well rounded style typical of Caroni.

Caroni 1996
Typical of Caroni “heavy” rum style with 12 years maturation
on the island.
Deep colour, lots of fruit on the nose, good wood balance and long deep flavour. A really stylish rum.

Caroni 1989
Distilled on the patent stills of Caroni, this heavy rum has been matured in small American oak casks at the hot and humid warehouses on the island.
Here the spirit has been transferred from clear high fruit spirit into amber nectar with soft sweet tones on the nose, baked banana, spiced fruit and soft oak leading to a palate that fills the mouth with sensation and complexity.
The length and depth of flavour is surprising, sweet tones go long on the palate, the spirit is controlled and the flavours stay long in the mouth in perfect harmony.

Caroni 1974
Dark in colour, hints of old gold and a green tinged rim, these, hues extracted from the wood. On the nose deep soft fruit including baked apple and bananas combine into a wonderful sweetness. This leads to a palate of such complexity and flavour that dives deep into the heart of a fully matured spirit showing style and length.
Concentration of flavour, heavy hints of well matured oak, a length of palate supported by sweet fruit and a touch of tar give something very special to enjoy.
Drink deep for this is history and when these bottles have been enjoyed there will be no more.

Providence Estate 1990
Some years ago Bristol Classic Rums secured a few barrels of rum distilled from the Providence Estate located near Chaganos just south of the Coporo River.
Using water with a low mineral content and distilling the spirit on an old patent still a slightly heavier rum than normal was produced in 1990. The stocks were transferred to used Sherry Wood and this finishing has added a touch of sweetness to the spirit enhancing its depth of flavour.
Slightly oily on the palate with smoke and molasses complexity this leads to a lovely, deep flavour which you can enjoy on the rocks or with little water to allow this fine rum to be seen at its best.
